This document sets out the terms that apply to all artwork acquisitions from Gallery SpaceTime, including payment, title transfer, domestic and international shipping, and related conditions.
1. Artwork Acquisitions
Gallery SpaceTime operates exclusively through private sales and advisory services. All acquisitions are conducted through direct correspondence with the gallery. This website does not facilitate online payments or shopping cart transactions.

2. Payment & Title Transfer
Ownership of an artwork transfers to the buyer only upon receipt of cleared payment in full. No title passes at the time of invoice or agreement alone.
The gallery reserves the right to retain possession of the work until payment is confirmed. Works remain the property of Gallery SpaceTime until full payment is received.
3. International Shipping
Gallery SpaceTime arranges international delivery through certified fine art specialists. Shipping is available worldwide, subject to the restrictions set out in Section 8.
The gallery coordinates:
- Custom crating or archival packaging appropriate to the work’s medium, size, and fragility
- Climate-controlled transport where required
- Door-to-door insurance coverage during transit (see Section 5)
- All required export documentation from South Korea
Shipping costs are quoted per transaction and communicated to the buyer prior to dispatch. Costs vary by destination, artwork dimensions, and weight.
4. Import Duties, Customs & Local Taxes
Import duties, customs fees, VAT, and any other taxes or charges levied at the destination country are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
The gallery provides all documentation required for customs clearance, including:
- Commercial invoice (at declared fair market value)
- Certificate of origin
- Packing list
- Any additional documentation required by the destination country
The gallery does not understate declared values on customs documentation. Buyers should consult their local customs authority or a licensed customs broker regarding applicable import rates prior to purchase.
5. Packaging & Insurance
All works are packed by or under the supervision of the gallery using materials appropriate to the work. Packaging costs are included in the shipping quote.
Works are fully insured from the time of dispatch until delivery to the buyer’s address. Insurance covers the agreed sale value of the work. The gallery’s insurance coverage terminates upon confirmed delivery. Buyers are advised to arrange their own fine art insurance from the point of receipt.
6. Condition Report & Certificate of Authenticity
A written condition report documenting the physical state of the work is prepared prior to dispatch. Photographic documentation is included.
A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is issued with every work sold by Gallery SpaceTime. The COA includes the artist’s name, title, date, medium, dimensions, and gallery authentication. The COA is based on available information and research at the time of sale. Please refer to our Terms of Use (Sections 6 and 7) for the scope of authenticity warranties and limitations of liability.
Both documents accompany the shipment or are provided to the buyer electronically prior to delivery.
7. Damage Claims
Upon delivery, the buyer must inspect the work and its packaging promptly.
Any damage claim must be submitted to the gallery within 48 hours of delivery, with:
- Written notice to contact@galleryspacetime.art
- Photographic evidence of the damage to the work and packaging
- The original packaging retained for inspection
Claims submitted after 48 hours, or without supporting photographic evidence, may not be accepted. The gallery will work with the buyer and the insurer to resolve valid damage claims.
8. Returns & Cancellations
Artworks sold by Gallery SpaceTime are final sale. As each work is a unique, one-of-a-kind object, returns and exchanges are not accepted once a sale is concluded.
EU Buyers
For buyers located in the European Union: under Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to goods that are clearly personalised or made to specification, and to unique works of art. All works sold by Gallery SpaceTime fall within this exemption. By concluding a purchase, EU buyers acknowledge this exemption applies.

9. Restricted Destinations
The gallery cannot ship to destinations subject to trade sanctions or export restrictions under South Korean law, United Nations resolutions, or the laws of the destination country. This includes, without limitation, countries subject to OFAC (U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control) sanctions or EU restrictive measures.
Orders placed for delivery to restricted destinations will be cancelled and any amounts received refunded.
10. Export Compliance
All exports are subject to South Korean law. Certain cultural artworks may require an export permit under the Framework Act on National Heritage (문화유산의 보존 및 활용에 관한 법률), effective May 2024, which replaced the former Cultural Heritage Protection Act. Artworks over 50 years old with historical or artistic significance may require approval from the Korea Heritage Service prior to export. The gallery will advise the buyer if an export permit is required and will apply for the necessary approval. This may affect delivery timelines.
11. Delivery Timelines
Delivery timelines vary by destination and are provided as estimates only. Factors including customs processing, public holidays, and weather may affect actual delivery times. The gallery is not liable for delays caused by customs authorities, carriers, or circumstances beyond its control.
